THE ROLE: To provide medical provision for academy players during training sessions and matchdays, including pre-match/training player preparations, pitch-side first aid and trauma management and post-match/training medical care. CONTRACT: Casual LOCATION: The Nigel Eady County Ground, The Royal Agricultural University, New College, Deer Park School SALARY: Competitive, Sessional REPORTS TO: Head of Academy Medical and Lead U9-U16 Therapist HOURS: Flexible in line with business needs DEPARTMENT: Academy KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: · Provide pitch side medical cover at designated weekday and weekend academy fixtures. · Provide pitch side medical cover at training sessions. · Ensure all medical equipment is maintained appropriately · Carry out on pitch and pitch side assessments and deliver appropriate treatment to injured players. · Referral of musculoskeletal injuries to academy injury clinics led by the Lead U9-16 Therapist · Liaise with the Academy coaching team and Academy medical staff regarding the medical status of Academy players and any injuries sustained during games. · Liaise with Parents to pass on any relevant medical information concerning athletes under your care. · Communicate effectively with all team members regarding squad availability, injury status and rehabilitation progress. · Report back to the Head of Academy and Lead U9-U16 therapist with injury updates and current status of player’s immediately after training sessions and matches. · Co-ordinate and outline EAP’s with opposition medical members of staff on matchdays.
