Your newpanyHMP Bristol is a Category B Men’s Prison, and is based in Horfield, Bristol. There are roughly 500 male inmates across 5 main wings. The prison is run by His Majesty’s Prison Service.Your new roleAs a prison support worker, you’ll play an integral part in maintaining a safe and secure environment in your prison. Working as part of a close-knit team, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks including:
1. Managing the control room.
2. Carrying out periodic security perimeter checks.
3. Overseeing prison visits/
4. Monitoring prisoner correspondence, reporting any contraband items, preserving evidence where needed.
5. Monitoring CCTV, ensuring all suspicious activities are reported.
Full time hours, on a shift pattern basis. This includes days, evenings, every other weekend, and periodical nights.
Rate (all rates are inclusive of holiday):
6. Standard: £ hourly
7. Weekday overtime: £ hourly
8. Weekend overtime: £ hourly
What you'll need to succeedYour new role does not require any experience as full training is provided. However, a military or security background would be beneficial. You will need to have strongmunication skills, be security conscious, and practical. In order to be successful, you'll also need to pass a security clearance procedure due to the nature of the role and provide 3 years of employment references.
