About the Role – Civils Supervisor
The client is looking for a Civils Supervisor to manage and oversee all construction activities related to underground cable installation and replacement across the SSE area in Scotland. This is a key leadership role ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to high standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise and manage underground cable installation and replacement work
* Conduct site surveys before, during, and after projects, reporting findings to the Project Manager
* Plan works within the electrical/civils sector
* Efficiently allocate staff and resources to meet project deadlines
* Compile job packs and ensure teams are properly briefed before work begins
* Submit necessary permits and approvals (PAIs)
* Ensure strict compliance with health and safety regulations, including CDM regulations
* Motivate and support field staff to maintain high work standards
* Manage subcontractors and ensure adherence to project specifications
* Keep detailed site documentation and report updates to project management
* Collaborate with Project Managers to maintain project schedules and budgets
* Provide mentoring and support to junior staff members
What We’re Looking For:
* Experience managing construction sites and field-based staff in LV, HV, substation, and underground works
* NRSWA certification
* IOSH – Managing Safety or SMSTS / SSSTS
* First Aid & Manual Handling qualifications
* CDM Awareness
* Strong communication skills to liaise with clients, customers, and project teams
* Proactive approach to problem-solving and resource management
