Job Overview Leicestershire Nutrition and Dietetic Service (Community) have a number of vacancies for Dietetic Support Workers to join our innovative Dietetic Prescribing Support service in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland supporting the Dietitians in delivering dietetic care to patients and their carers. Leicester Nutrition and Dietetic Service (Community) has a team of approximately 70 staff, made of Dietitians, Community Nutritionists, Dietetic Support Workers and Support Team Staff covering the population of Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland. Full time, 37.5 hours per week. Part time working will be considered (minimum 3 days per week) Job Description Summary (Key Responsibilities) The post offers the opportunity to be a member of the dietetic prescribing team and will work across the health care community, including GP surgeries and care homes, and provide support to the Dietitians in managing patient s care plans. The post holder will be involved in varied duties, both office-based, and in patients homes and other settings. The role has a strong focus on patient contact and monitoring, and also training for individuals and groups. Office-based duties will include record keeping and data input. You will work alongside and be supported by the Dietitians working in the service, Dietetic Support workers and administrative staff. You will need excellent team-working, communication, organisational and IT skills, along with a passion for working with patients, relatives, carers and other professionals to provide high quality care. Previous experience of working with patients in a caring, healthcare-related field is needed for this post. The service is committed to CPD and personal development and we have good clinical supervision models and in-house CPD in place to support you. The service is involved in the pre-registration placements for student dietitians undertaking A, B and C placements.
