An exciting opportunity has arisen for Administrative Assistants/Call Handlers based in the Central Appointments Team in The Murray Building, The James Cook University Hospital
This department provides outpatient appointment services to multiple specialities across the trust and for multiple locations.
The post holder will act as a call handler for patient and trust appointment enquiries ensuring effective and efficient handling and processing of all referrals and queries by use of telephone and electronic systems, following the appropriate referral processes, To control and take charge of calls managing all in a calm professional manner and treating all those you deal with dignity and respect
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate essential knowledge and experience in the following areas:
The following skills are essential to the role:
1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
2. Previous experience in a fast-paced administrative role, working in a busy office (open plan) environment.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
4. Ability to work in a busy contact centre dealing with people with varying needs.
5. Good working knowledge and experience of using Microsoft Office packages.
6. Excellent Customer Service skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
You will need to demonstrate previous experience of working with confidential information in particularly the Data Protection Act, showing attention to detail and maintaining accuracy at all times. Your ability to work using your own initiative is essential, whilst understanding the importance of adhering to Trust Policies and local procedures.
Full training will be provided however candidates with experience of using Camis, E-Camis, ERS and RIS would be preferred and there is an expectation that applicants would need to be skilled and confident in adapting to work with complex electronic systems.
