As Head of Business Consultancy, you will play a crucial role in building and leading our Business Consultancy team, driving operational excellence and ensuring our projects achieve meaningful impact for our clients. You will bring strategic oversight, nurture a high-performing team, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our consulting methodologies.Duties and ResponsibilitiesOperational Leadership:Deliver daily operational leadership and effective management of the Business Consultancy team. Ensure business processes are followed, from corporate Project and Implementation Methodologies to resourcing and performance management.Team Management:Provide line management to the consultancy team, ensuring team members are equipped and empowered. This includes overseeing appraisals, coaching, mentoring, and fostering an environment where individuals can thrive.Strategic Planning:Collaborate with the Technical Consulting Director to agree on priorities and objectives for the Training, Business Analyst, and BI & Reporting teams. Lead the successful execution of these strategic objectives, ensuring alignment with our overall company goals.Performance & KPIs:Develop and deliver key performance indicators (KPIs) for the Business Consultancy function. Work in close collaboration with other departments to ensure targets are met and our solutions continue to deliver measurable benefits to our clients.Methodology Development:Be a key contributor to the continuous improvement of System C’s consulting methodologies, ensuring our approach stays innovative and effective. Support the development and maintenance of the Technical Consulting business plan.Process Improvement:Drive process development and improvement initiatives within the Business Consultancy department and across the company. Your input will ensure our services remain efficient and aligned with the best practices in professional services.Cross-Department Collaboration:Collaborate closely with Project Managers and other internal teams to ensure successful project delivery. Work proactively to identify and fulfil resource requirements, ensuring our clients’ needs are met.Strategic Contributions:Provide input for professional services bids and proposals, ensuring System C’s value proposition is compelling and well-articulated.Empowering Team Members:Promote a supportive, nurturing environment where team members feel confident to deliver outstanding work. Encourage personal and professional development, aligning with System C’s values.Data-Driven Decisions:Implement and champion the use of data to drive insights and enhance decision-making across projects. Continuously improve our use of data, ensuring our clients see measurable results from our work.Key Objectives:Grow and unify the Training Team, ensuring a cohesive approach to delivering training on our platforms.Drive the development of a singular, unified training platform to streamline our educational resources.Foster a data-driven culture within the Business Consultancy team, leveraging analytics to enhance client outcomes.Ensure collaboration between departments, particularly with Project Managers, to maximize efficiency and impact.Technical experience/skills related to the ability to fulfil the Duties and Responsibilities detailed above.Qualifications & ExperienceEducational Background:Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, Management, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.Industry Experience:Extensive experience in consultancy leadership, preferably within the healthcare, education, or social care sectors. Experience with NHS or public sector projects is highly desirable.Project Management:Proven track record of managing complex, large-scale projects using formal project management methodologies. Certification in PRINCE2, Agile, or similar frameworks is an advantage.Team Leadership:Demonstrated experience in leading and developing high-performing teams. Strong people management skills, including coaching, mentoring, and fostering a positive team culture.Technical Proficiency:Understanding of software implementation and business process analysis. Familiarity with System C’s products or similar systems (e.g., CarePlus, Liquidlogic) is beneficial.Strategic Thinking:Ability to think strategically and align departmental objectives with broader company goals.
