This new role is a new and exciting opportunity to develop, alongside experienced pain MDT colleagues, a psychological service for individuals with complex pain needs across Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust.
The Trust brings together three main hospital sites - Basildon, Broomfield, Southend and a number of satellite hospital sites including Orsett.
Each have their own psychological staff but there is now the opportunity to develop a team across the area continuing to offer evidence-based individual work and our extremely successful multidisciplinary pain management programme.
You will be an important member of the multidisciplinary pain service who have a long history of providing care within a psychological frame in collaboration with the entire team.
This is an opportunity to develop within the role under the supervision of senior experienced colleagues delivering psychological treatments for people with complex pain presentations as part of a multidisciplinary team approach.
Your ongoing contribution to service delivery and personal and professional development will be supported by the management team within the pain service and the hospital-based psychological therapies service.
We are looking for a fully accredited and creative individual with an interest in working within a pain service in secondary care.
You will participate in delivering pain management programs and individual psychological interventions.

Main duties of the job
You will be providing psychological screening, psychosocial information, assessment and treatment to patients and their families based across four MSE Pain Relief Services, outpatient and inpatient.
You will be assisting in providing consultation on complex psychological issues to the wider multidisciplinary team by involvement in relevant multi-disciplinary forums.
You will provide a coherent approach to Pain Management within the service.
You will provide input with clinical autonomy, under the supervision of senior staff, and to work in ways which are sensitive to the needs of staff/patients from a wide range of racial, cultural and religious backgrounds.

Skills knowledge and experience
* Excellent clinical skills using bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge.
* Evidence and experience of working within a multidisciplinary framework.
* Evidence of being able to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty.
* Makes decisions based on evidence and experience including the contribution of others.
* Evidence of experience of and enthusiasm for service development.
Qualifications
* Professional level training in Counselling, Clinical or Health Psychology or Psychological Therapy.
* Working towards further post graduate qualifications.

Salary: £46,148 a year (Per Annum, Pro Rata for Part Time)
