The opportunity
Due to projects ramping up, our client is currently seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor with knowledge of the water industry to join their clients leading engineering and maintenance provider.
Remuneration & Benefits: £60000 per Annum

Your duties and responsibilities will be:
1. Identifying, raising, monitoring and closing Early Warning notices.
2. Identifying, raising, monitoring and closing Variation notices.
3. Estimating and pricing Variation quotations, negotiating through to agreement.
4. Working with others to ensure fully compliant contract notices are raised under the contract, i.e. with the Planning Department for Time Impacted Programmes.
5. Advising other departments on contractual obligations of the Contractor.
6. Producing Applications for Payment in accordance with the stated contract method.
7. Ensuring invoices are requested in accordance with the contract conditions.
8. Submitting weekly dashboard to RCM for status of contract notices.
9. Producing Project Specific Cost and Value Reports.
10. Forecasting versus budget (cost and value).
11. Cost analysis - prelims, plant, equipment, materials, labour, subcontract.
12. Value analysis.
13. Subcontract management.
14. Cash flow and supporting the Finance department with cash collection when necessary.
15. Identifying margin improvement opportunities.
16. Supporting the commercial team in write-down of Work in Progress from Client/PMO.
You will have the following qualifications & experience:
1. 5+ years in a similar role in a contracting organisation.
2. Experience of contracting in the Water Utilities sector.
3. Experience of NEC3/4 and/or IchemE contracts.
4. Either engineering or commercial qualification.
It's great if you also have the following:
1. Degree (Engineering, Quantity Surveying, IT, or similar).
2. Member of Professional Institution (e.g. MRICS or similar).
3. Strong background in dealing with commercial issues.
4. Experience of CEMAR or similar tools.
5. Evidence of dispute resolution.
6. SAP experience.
