We are seeking a responsible and enthusiastic individual to work as a Phlebotomist within our organisation. The successful candidate will work across all of our sites including; Adlington Medical Centre, The Village Surgery Lostock Hall, Croston Medical Centre, Eaves Lane Surgery and Buckshaw Village Surgery.
The successful candidate will assist in the care of patients as an essential member of the Nursing Team.
We have two positions available and will consider a job share in the full-time role. Our Phlebotomists clinics will run Mon-Sat 8am-8pm over the two roles.
We will be undertaking interviews week commencing 29th April 2025.
Main duties of the job
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Safe collection of blood samples by venepuncture or capillary sampling in the clinics as required.
* Preparation of equipment and the correct disposal of clinical waste and sharps.
* Perform duties in accordance with the organisation's Health and Safety at Work Policies.
* Ensure that a constantly high standard of care and service is maintained to patients, members of staff, and the general public.
* Good time-keeping.
* Provide a caring and professional service for users.
* Maintain high standards of professional appearance.
* Enthusiasm, determination, and a positive, can-do attitude.
* Flexibility.
* Willingness to work at short notice.
You will need basic computer skills and be able to meet the physical demands of the job.
Previous phlebotomy experience is essential.

Job responsibilities
The post holder works under the indirect supervision of the nurse manager and undertakes tasks and duties delegated by the practice nurse team leader or a suitably qualified regulated professional. They will work collaboratively with the general practice team to meet the needs of patients, following policy and procedures while providing utmost patient care in their phlebotomy clinics.
