Description
The Polo Delegated Authority Practice is a growing department within Polo Commercial Insurance Services. Based across both London and Cheltenham, the team offers specialist support to Lloyd’s and non-Lloyd’s clients through the provision of Delegated Bordereau Processing services, audit and consulting.
As Technical Controller you will deliver, accurate, efficient and quality service through a highly motivated, focused, competent team who consistently deliver for our clients. You will assist the Technical Manager to lead continuous improvement, to enhance the contribution made by the DA Practice to the overall development of PCIS' business model.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the team handling our client’s bordereau processing functions, to deliver quality standards and Service Level targets through effective performance management.
* Assist with the regular reviews of team members, inspire, motivate, coach and develop the team to achieve outstanding performance through personal leadership styles and behaviours.
* Supervision of the team within company guidelines, procedures & risk appetite and sign off from Technical Manager.
* Supervision of individual team members assessment of competency and core appraisal measures, quantity, quality, flexibility and competence.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
* At least 3 years’ experience in the General Insurance Industry.
* Ability to understand the data contained in Written, Premium and Claims bordereau.
* Comprehensive leadership skills.
* Appropriate balance of operational skills and technical expertise.
* Planning and organising skills.
* Analytical and report writing skills.
* Ability to coach others and to provide effective feedback.
* Demonstrated understanding and experience of delegated bordereau processing.
* Knowledge of resource planning.
* Knowledge of risk identification, escalation, and mitigation.
* Knowledge of Operational Controls framework.
