We are seeking a 1:1 SEN Assistant to join a dynamic team at a Special School in Basildon. This full-time, temporary to permanent role is an opportunity to work closely with a student, providing tailored support to help them achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide one-to-one support to a student, adapting to their specific learning and emotional needs.
* Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) or EHCPs, under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO.
* Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment to promote the student’s development and well-being.
* Support the student in accessing the curriculum, using a variety of strategies and resources.
* Monitor and record the student’s progress, providing regular feedback to staff and parents.
* Assist with classroom activities, including literacy, numeracy, and creative tasks.
* Encourage positive behaviours and emotional regulation, using therapeutic approaches.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experience supporting students with special educational needs, particularly ASD and communication difficulties.
* Familiarity with visual aids, intensive interaction techniques, or EHCP implementation.
* NVQ Level 2 in learning support or equivalent qualification.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* A patient, empathetic approach with the ability to build trust and rapport.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
