Job Summary
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Therapeutic Radiographer to join our team in a forward-thinking radiotherapy department at Velindre Cancer Centre. This post is based at our new Radiotherapy Satellite Centre at Nevill Hall Hospital, Abergavenny. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main Duties of the Job
1. Help organise the workload in the various functions of the department and take responsibility for training and supervising more junior radiographers and students.
2. Deputise in the role of team leader in the absence of the Band 7 radiographer, as required.
3. Be part of a large multi-disciplinary team and be involved in the total care of patients undergoing radiotherapy.
4. Work flexibly according to the demands of the service, including weekends and across more than one site.
5. Participate in out-of-hours and on-call working as required.

Qualifications and Knowledge
Essential
* BSc (Hons) in Therapeutic Radiography or equivalent.
* Registration with Health Care Professions Council.
* Evidence of CPD (continuing professional development) gained through short courses or equivalent experience.
* Knowledge of principles and concepts underpinning applications and techniques used in radiotherapy.
* Knowledge of current oncology issues.
* Full knowledge of radiation regulations.
Desirable
* Evidence of further study to Masters Level.
