Operations Manager Cornwall & South West Region Permanent, full time (47.5hrs) Competitive Salary Join Public Sewer Services as an Operations Manager and be part of a team that's been delivering top-notch drainage services for over 34 years, offering fast, eco-friendly solutions. As Operations Manager, you will be responsible for leading and supporting all operational staff to ensure the successful completion of tasks in Cornwall and the Southwest region. Working in conjunction with the Office Manager, Supervisors, and Team Leaders, you will plan, allocate, and execute work efficiently, optimizing workforce distribution and support the smooth operation of the depot and business. Ensuring all work is carried out safely, compliantly, and to a high standard, you will play a key role in overseeing teams responsible for delivering utility services while maintaining operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and profitable returns. What you will be doing: Scoping of works and estimating with support from the wider team and QS. Chase priced works. Provision of regular predictions in Turnover of works in line with budgets Provision of regular Sales Pipeline information Work closely with site teams and QS/Commercial to understand profit levels Identify project variations and notify/liaise with the client to get approval, with support from the QS/Commercial Assist the Site Management with the planning of future works. Work safely at all times and ensure the safety of all those working around them. Draft RAMS and brief out as necessary Performance manage all operational teams Ensure the site teams are skilled and empowered to deliver safe and high-quality works. Accept delivery of plant and materials and check inspection, calibration and conformity certification. Report all accidents, incidents and near misses. Attend and deliver Stand Downs, Team Briefs and Toolbox Talks. Carry out regular site audits. Accurately record details of work undertaken. Develop existing client relationships and build new client relationships Champion both Trenchless and Civils works as required within the South West region Acting as the main point of contact for clients and keeping them fully updated on works. Enquire with customers and gain feedback on how the job went and pass this back to the Operatives Keep both the client and Line Manager fully informed of any operational change. Provide a full operational brief when asked by a senior manager. Provide assistance to other departments/the wider group and managers with day to day work and ongoing project work as required. What you'll need to bring: Trenchless/lining experience and/or civils experience in utilities or energy industry Registered with Construction Skills Certificate Scheme (CSCS) Proven team management experience with a strong understanding of utility operations and regulatory requirement Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
