Scope of Role:
To mechanically inspect Piece Part, Sub Assembly or Final Assembly produced by the Company or its Sub-Contractors and Suppliers to AS9100 and EASA Part 21. Support the Company’s calibration system and maintain the supporting records.
Main Duties/Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for mechanical inspection of all Company Products, using a wide range of hand measuring tools and other inspection equipment including the CMM.
2. Nominated DQR for product release of specific customer products.
3. Certifying Staff for release of Civil Aerospace products.
4. Responsible for verification of supplier FAIRs.
5. Responsible for compiling FAIRs to AS9102 for internal products.
6. Responsible for co-ordinating mechanical & electrical calibration with internal customers.
7. Responsible for calibration improvement plan.
8. Responsible for developing GRIPs – Goods Inwards Inspection Plans and coordinating with the supplier.
9. Produce accurate and detailed written NCRs on non-conforming product for either internal or external distribution.
10. Using Microsoft Office to establish and maintain the supporting records for the company’s calibration system.
11. Responsible for communicating with all internal departments either by written reports or verbally.
12. Assist where relevant in customer site visits.
13. Take responsibility for flagging quality control non-conformances to reduce waste.
14. Undertake the mechanical inspection of products in line with the specified Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
Professional Knowledge & Experience:
1. Proven experience of working in a Quality Mechanical Inspector role.
2. Significant previous experience of working in a manufacturing environment using mechanical measuring equipment.
3. Familiar with FAIR’s to AS9102 is essential.
4. Proven ability to use a wide range of hand measuring tools and other inspection equipment including a CNC CMM. (CE Johansson would be desirable).
5. Previous experience of producing accurate and detailed comprehensive written reports on non-conforming product.
6. Microsoft Office skills, including the creation of Excel spreadsheets.
7. Able to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
8. Good command of the English language and very articulate.
9. Good presentation and communication skills at all levels, both externally and internally.
10. Literate and numerical aptitude.
