This position is for a traveler who will travel from location to location: York, Hanover, Mechanicsburg, Enola, etc.
Job Summary
The Physician Assistant performs various duties to assist the Physician(s) to whom assigned. Assists with the examination and assessment of patients in the office-based setting. May perform various duties to assist during surgery, if a surgical Physician Assistant.
Schedule
Part-time schedule/ primarily weekday hours with rotation of evenings (seldom) weekend hours / Saturdays needed. (Approximately twice a month)
Qualifications and Education
* PA or CRNP degree with current Pennsylvania license required.
* Previous experience as a physician assistant preferred.
* Surgical experience strongly preferred for Surgical PA.
* Ability to function independently as well as being a contributing member of the clinical team.
* Demonstrated time critical decision-making skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Examines, evaluates and performs comprehensive physical examinations of patients.
* Compiles patient’s medical data, including health history and the results of the physical examination.
* Orders diagnostic studies to aid in the diagnosis and management of the patients’ care.
* Formulates treatment plan that may include pharmacotherapy, physical and/or occupational therapy; diagnostic and therapeutic minimally invasive interventional procedures.
* Evaluates follow-up, pre and post-operative patients.
* May function as First Assist in orthopaedic surgery cases.
* May perform inpatient rounds on behalf of/in support of the Physician.
* May assume call responsibility in conjunction with Physicians.
* Performs other responsibilities as assigned by the Physician and/or the COO in support of the patient’s proper care and the level of customer service to which the organization is committed.
Language Skills
Must be proficient in the English language, both verbally and written, in order to communicate effectively with patients, co-workers, physicians, vendors, and the general public.
Physical Demands
Moderate physical effort working. Efforts consisting of standing, walking, pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, and stooping. Frequently lifting and/or moving 25 to 50 lbs. Must be able to respond quickly and effectively to an emergency.
Work Environment
Climate controlled environment with occasional periods of being outside. Exposed to blood borne pathogens, anesthetic gases, odorous chemicals and specimens, toxic chemicals, electrical and mechanical hazards, bio-contaminated waste, radiation from x-rays and unpleasant elements.

Education
Required: Masters or better.
Experience
