Our client is seeking a temporary Assistant Manager to support Banking and Payment Oversight for a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role sits within the Wealth Management Operations function and is responsible for the effective day-to-day management support of the oversight of outsourced banking and payments services. The successful candidate will perform testing, develop and maintain test cases, and act as a key escalation point for issue resolution. The role offers a hybrid working model with flexibility and the opportunity to work with subject matter experts to enhance operational delivery.
Job Duties:
* Support the oversight of outsourced banking and payment services, ensuring all daily duties are managed effectively.
* Perform banking and payment testing and quality assurance checks in line with operational standards.
* Act as a key point of escalation for issue resolution with outsourced teams based in Malaysia.
* Develop and maintain regression test cases to support system enhancements and functionality changes.
* Deliver key metric data to support oversight reporting and exception management.
* Produce regular reports and metrics for the monthly oversight committee.
* Assist with the development of service level agreements and operational metrics in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
* Support the creation and maintenance of operational procedures and ensure team compliance.
* Provide ongoing training support and assess development needs within the team.
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of workflows and controls.
Job Requirements:
* Experience supporting banking and payments activity within a high-volume operations environment.
* Sound knowledge of UK agency clearing services, retail payments, and operational control frameworks.
* Ability to interpret and manage service level agreements and performance metrics.
* Strong analytical and reporting skills with the ability to identify and escalate issues effectively.
* Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
* Strong communication skills and the confidence to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
* Adaptability and resilience to navigate change and support others through process developments.
* A relevant banking or securities qualification is desirable.
