The role
As Travel Trade Manager you’ll be a member of the growing Manchester Airport marketing team, reporting to the Head of Marketing. In this role you’ll develop and maintain relationships with the sales and marketing teams of our airline partners, tour operators, travel agents, international tourist boards, local tourism organisations, corporates, and local businesses in our catchment to drive growth at Manchester Airport.
You’ll establish strong relationships with the travel trade, understanding their customers and objectives and work with both the MAN Aviation and Marketing teams to develop campaigns to drive sales, increase our route network, ensure that all key leisure and business travel agents are fully trained and updated on promoting Manchester Airport and its products.
What will make you successful in this role?
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in the travel trade, tourism and marketing industry, strong influencing skills and an entrepreneurial approach to work. You must have a strong understanding of the travel industry, Manchester Airport outer catchment areas, booking patterns, business developments and innovations.
Other key attributes include:
* Airline or travel trade background with an established contact network in the industry.
* Knowledge of airline network and commercial activities.
* Ability to convert strategies into executable plans for aviation accounts.
* Ability to influence senior level stakeholders (both internally and externally).
* Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence and become an advocate across multiple business divisions and airports.
* A full UK driving license and access to your own vehicle to enable you to travel to meet with agencies and operators.
