As part of our ongoing expansion, Spire Murrayfield Hospital has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Robotic Lead to join their Theatre Team.
The role will involve assisting with all surgical procedures with a focus on robotic assisted surgery. You will be involved with the care of the patient through their surgical pathway with the main focus on theatre-based work.
To assist the perioperative managers to deliver effective patient care by providing appropriate clinical support assisting the theatre manager to effectively maximise theatre utilisation.
Duties and responsibilities:
Participate in operative procedures and aspects of pre- and post-operative care of robot assisted surgical (RAS) patients under the direct, indirect and proximal supervision of the consultant surgeons.
As the lead, you will be responsible for the assessment, planning, diagnosis implementation and care, as an autonomous practitioner with the multi-professional team.
Be involved in the strategic review and improvement of clinical services as appropriate through active participation with the multi-professional team.
Be responsible for implementing a clearly defined integrated approach to patient care encompassing new treatments and evidence-based care.
Working in close participation with patients and their families to ensure shared clinical decision process
Who we're looking for:
Operating Department Practitioner/Registered Nurse - With a HCPC or NMC registration (no restrictions)
Surgical Care Practitioner or Surgical First Assistant - Part 2 will be considered for this role
Working as a lead as an advanced perioperative practitioner in and across surgical teams
Experience with the Da Vinci Robot is essential for this role
Critically applying the knowledge and skills gained through qualification or experience in advanced surgical practice.
Experience in scrub and Surgical First Assistant in Orthopaedics, Prostate, Spinal, Urology, General and Gynaecology Surgery is desirable.
Mentorship qualification is desirable
