Summary Responsible for directing and supervising lifting operations and work of operators including manage and assist in project administration to establish operational priorities and maintain effective relationships with the different Project disciplines, subcontractors, and adjacent HS2 contractors. Responsibility extends to ensuring that the works are carried out in a safe manner with due regard to the protection of the workforce, public and the environment. Key Responsibilities Assumes responsibility for the efficient, timely, and accurate completion of site/project functions. Oversees field operations, heavy lifts, lift planning, scheduling of maintenance activities, and engineering activities. Supervises the scheduling and delivery of site/project services Monitors and supervises operational quality, safety and efficiency. Identifies potential problems and solutions to resolve them quickly and effectively. Regulates work flow to ensure optimal service delivery. Monitors crane scheduling to ensure that services are completed according to deadlines. Writes procedure documents and completes related reports and records. Produce and review when necessary method statements, ITPs, construction processes, engineering specifications, set out and measurements and quality control, certificate and compliances Supervises the allocation and distribution of necessary materials and supplies. Ensures that services are delivered in accordance with established performance, safety, and quality standards. Assumes responsibility for maintaining effective communication, coordination, and working relations with the wide HS2 Project staff and management teams. Works closely with purchasing, engineering, and sales departments to maintain schedules and implement changes and revisions in operational procedures. Provides assistance and support to Engineering, Procurement and Operational departments as required. Keeps Project Management informed of site/project activities and any significant problem Maintain daily logs of activities and quality cross over notes from meetings and site activities. Assumes responsibility to manage and assist in the operational duties, ensuring accuracy and the delivering of information to our operators, client and internal departments Creation of daily force reports and submittal to the client as required Collection, completion and review of daily reports re management, safety, manpower, equipment, rigging and auxiliary items for accuracy Collation and accuracy confirmation of daily time sheets and reports and forwarding to the relevant departments for process Maintain Client Relations Attend client meetings, pre lift meetings, site management walks, and assist with determination of project requirements Chair site meetings and distribute minutes to all project team members as required. Effectively and accurately communicate relevant project information to operators and project team. Ensure project requirements are met in a professional, timely and cost effective manner Keep the Project Management Team and other stakeholders informed about project status and potential issues that may impact client relations Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned. Ensures that work areas are clean, secure, and well maintained. Stays informed of developments and changes in service delivery techniques and methods. Performs operational and maintenance duties as required. Completes special projects as assigned. Specific Safety Responsibilities Comply with the requirements of Mace Dragados HS&W Management Plan and co-operate with the efforts to prevent accidents and ill health. Ensure that the information required to collate CDM Health and Safety file is included in the CDM register. Carry out investigations with appropriate personnel into accidents or incidents that occur on site and report findings and recommendations to the Project Director. Qualifications, Certifications & Experience Degree or higher level or equivalent in a numerate discipline, typically an Engineering discipline. A lower educational level, typically HNC or HND may be acceptable where a very significant level of experience in a senior technical engineering role can be demonstrated. Experience in Crane Coordinator or similar Safety Critical position for significant civil engineering construction project. Have an excellent track record of project delivery: safely, to timescale, quality and cost. Have demonstrable experience of leadership, building and motivating teams. Demonstrate excellent presentation, negotiation skills organisational skills, ability to plan and manage own time. Proficient at planning and scheduling work, must be able to prioritize and develop realistic action plans Computer skills SMSTS qualification. CSCS Card Behaviours and Competencies Have excellent communication (written and verbal), management and organisational skills and the ability to plan ahead and manage the work time frames. A good working knowledge of the Health and Safety regulations and the relevant legislation. Have a working understanding of NEC form of contract.
