Job Purpose
To lead bulk annuity strategic projects and ensure appropriate actuarial controls and monitoring of pricing are in place. Working with colleagues across thepany, including LifeCopanies and embedding new processes for CLL.
This role will manage, motivate and develop the performance of a group of individuals in their team and collaboratively work with teams across the UK, Canada and with external parties.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead a team of qualified actuaries and trainees that are responsible for the development & pricing of bulk annuities under bulk annuity strategic projects. This includes recruitment, 121's, coaching and development, day to day management and annual performance reviews.
-municate to and influence Senior Executives (Executive Director Insurance, CFO, Chief Actuary etc.), in an appropriate manner, on the impact, pricing and otherwise, of bulk annuity quotations under strategic projects external reinsurance, process efficiency & capitalpany modelling.
- Develop, gain approval and execute pricing & reinsurance arrangements for bulk annuity strategic projects to widen market opportunity, improvepetitiveness, capital efficiency and profitability of bulk annuities.
- Review and produce actuarial reports, including pricing reports, and statements.
- Provide support to strategic project programmes as required. This includes external negotiations, and contribution to the bulk annuity strategy.
- Act as subject matter expert and lead business project work streams as required by the development schedule.
Desired Knowledge / Experience / Skills
- Previous experience of managing a team and resource planning is essential.
- Knowledge of UK Bulk Annuity markets and reinsurance structures.
- Analysing and reasoning skills, to reach sound and defensible conclusions / rmendations based on data but being pragmatic as situation and needs dictate.
- Ability to apply actuarial techniques to business problems.
- Influencing skills in order to manage a range of stakeholders to enable delivery of desired objectives.
- Strongmunicator with the ability tomunicateplex technical and pricing concepts to a variety of stakeholders.
- Able to build relationships with people at all levels.
- Understanding and ability to implement/maintain an actuarial control framework.
