Job Title: Investment Manager Reporting to: Director of Finance and Investment Job role: To provide modelling and analysis of investment projects, innovative products and existing investment book performance and liquidity Key Responsibilities Portfolio Management Performance analysis : prepare analysis of investment performance and forecast for assigned Partners, including: Project financial reporting against targets Risk assessment, valuation and provisioning of the investment portfolio Liquidity and capacity for new investments Overall portfolio allocation Financial Sustainability. Regular assessment of investments financial sustainability by review of, management accounts, annual financial statements business plans non-financial indicators. Business Plan : Ensure that each partner assigned to the Investment Manager has an up to date 5-year business plan deposited with Reall. Work with partner to understand the business plan and suggest improvements. Management Reporting. Provide regular reporting to Reall’s executive management and investors on the status of investments. Work with colleagues to ensure that outstanding actions are recorded and managed through to completion. Analyse foreign exchange risk in the portfolio and propose risk management solutions in partnership with colleagues. Partner Acquisition providing appropriate financial analysis, advice and guidance of prospective new partners. Lead financial due diligence of prospective partners and investments to validate their alignment to Reall’s mission and objectives. Impairment Work with Finance department to establish the appropriate level of impairment on a quarterly basis. Market research on industry trends, sectors, and companies and develop a point of view for funds Due diligence on potential investments – deal origination, market sizing, technology walkthroughs, competitive landscapes, financial valuation and modelling, reference calls, negotiations, and closing Investment Appraisal Support development of new innovative products working with colleagues to deliver the organisation mission through constant evolution of approaches, assessing financial credibility and viability. Assess investment opportunities to ensure that any potential new investment meets Reall’s investment policy and principles. Carry out project investment appraisal, including review of the organisation’s current and future financial perspectives and ability to repay any investments. Preparatory documentation work with colleagues to ensure high quality of investment proposal prior to submission to the Investment Committee. Stakeholder management liaising with colleagues, external stakeholders to follow up and complete any outstanding investment issues. Draft investment proposals for submission to the Investment Committee and make recommendations in support of Investment Committees’ review of the investment proposal. Take responsibility for investment proposal completion, including review of legal documents, ensure that conditions precedent set by Reall’s Investment Committee are met, loans are formally registered with appropriate authorities and funds drawn down correctly. Financial Treasury Forecast the year-end position under loan covenants for inclusion alongside the monthly management accounts pack Perform timely year-end calculations to evidence actual out-turns under loan covenants, working with auditors where necessary Work with the colleagues to develop and manage workflows in treasury management systems that deliver robust and effective controls Monitor and report compliance of treasury activities with approved policies and limits Support the development of Reall’s treasury management system regarding its accounting interfaces Implement EuroBank Daily rates into Business Central for monthly FX Revaluations Additional Responsibilities Contributing to the continuous improvement of Reall’s services, products, tools, methods, systems and standards. Clear reporting to, and communication with, the Executive Team and Board. Carrying out such other reasonable duties as may be required by the Chief Executive. Serving cross-functionally in the execution of Reall’s annual business plan. Ability to analyse financial statements and construct financial and valuation models Have professional networking skills, motivated to build new relationships Adept at coaching and engaging with remote, multicultural teams using collaboration tools, such as Microsoft, and CRMs Suggest improvements to our approach, process, products, and services Package Salary: £38,000- £42,000 Hours: Normal office hours are 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday. We are open to flexible working patterns subject to the objectives and outcomes of the role being met. We are currently working hybrid with blended office and homeworking with the ability to work up to three days from home. Annual leave: 33 days plus 1 additional day for every year of service (up to 38 days) plus an additional day off on your birthday Probation: Six months. Person Specification Education: A relevant degree with a CIMA/ACCA, CCAB qualification would be an advantage, or QBE. Experience: Experience of financial appraisal and financial management, ideally across a range of settings. Experience of financial appraisal/modelling and financial management, ideally in developed and emerging markets contexts. Able to demonstrate investment and financial expertise and an ability to undertake due diligence, assess financial performance, manage investor/investee relationships with organisations based in emerging markets. Demonstrate cultural awareness when acting as a business advisor to support local organisations to implement sustainable business models and practices. Key Competencies Essential Understanding of financial statements and financial forecasting with the ability to interpret & present these findings orally & in writing to both financial & non-financial parties. Strong analytical and financial modelling skills in Excel. The desire to make a difference & be impactful.
