Our client is currently looking for an EC&I project engineer for a role on Sizewell B Power Station, Suffolk.
Details are as follows:
1. Temp to perm position
2. 40 - 50 hours per week, usually 50 hours required
3. £50k-£62k salary
Main Responsibilities:
1. Monitor delivery of the project, identifying risk and opportunities and working with key stakeholders to optimise project delivery.
2. Assess the 'constructability' of the proposed design and ensure that Design teams produce feasible designs within the required timescales.
3. Lead the delivery of construction works, ensuring compliance with all company processes and protocols.
4. Review and approve contractor documents.
5. Support and develop the supervisory and engineering team, and support project steering groups/cross discipline action groups, as required.
6. Perform up front site surveys including liaising with designers.
7. Proofread and approve drawings.
8. Where appropriate, act as point of contact for site related project issues.
9. Act as Test Team Leader where appropriate.
10. Ensure a relentless focus on Zero Harm.
11. Manage the implementation of systems and processes for Right First-Time approach.
12. Overall ownership of Handover Documentation for Section.
13. Input and drive of operational target programs to reflect overall construction program.
14. Liaise with off-site functions for knowledge sharing and best practice.
15. Identify longer term strategic training to support individual development as required.
16. Management of subcontractors and advise on commercial aspects / preferred attendances and operational risks to the scheme and mitigation options.
17. Support the work winning process by providing technical input.
18. Carry out EDF specific training in becoming EDF approved field supervisor, nominated competent person, WOC specifier and Nominated supervisor.
19. Collating project take off's for quotation purposes.
20. Producing EC&I RAMS & Quality plans for client review.
Requirements:
1. HNC/HND qualifications in either Electrical or C&I discipline.
2. Experience in a wide range of construction operations, including phasing and contingency planning, together with testing and handover.
3. Previous nuclear industry experience would be advantageous.
4. Experience and knowledge of links between design team and operational delivery.
5. Understanding of high levels of health & safety.
6. CTC/SC clearance would be preferred but can be processed for the right individual.
