We are looking for two dynamic, experienced and enthusiastic Occupational Therapists to join our strong and progressive specialist multi-disciplinary Adult Learning Disability Team in the Ashford Canterbury and Coastal locality. We have a full time and part-time position available.
We are a community-based team who work closely alongside local authority and specialist mental health services to support adults with Learning Disabilities and complex needs.

The KCHFT learning disability team uses a positive multi-disciplinary model to provide direct specialist clinical expertise, behavioural and engagement support and access to developmental opportunities to people with learning disabilities and their families and carers. We also facilitate reasonable adjustments to enable people to access mainstream healthcare services where these best meet their health needs. The multi-disciplinary teams of OTs, nurses, SLTS, PTs and a specialist vision and hearing service work in four geographic localities across the County and work in partnership with the social care teams for Kent County Council (KCC) and the LD teams within the Mental Health Trust (KMPT) to provide a co-ordinated and holistic combined service for people with learning disabilities.
The Occupational therapy team provides specialist support to enable people to live their lives fully. We work with people with learning disabilities, their families and paid carers in community settings as part of a multi – agency team. We provide assessment and treatment interventions that aim to maximise a person’s quality of life.
You will support a complex clinical caseload using evidence based / person centred practice and similarly supervise other member so the OT team to deliver best practice. You will foster, maintain and develop quality improvement in the work setting in line with clinical and operational need
