Develop your skills by working on real-life projects while being supported on a guided learning journey. This will be a 5-year apprenticeship where you will be put onto the Level 6 Manufacturing Engineering Apprenticeship Standard with a Materials pathway at Blackpool and the Fylde College.
How You'll Make an Impact
* During the Apprenticeship (1-5 years), college will be on a day release basis as required, where you will study towards the Level 6 Manufacturing Engineering Apprenticeship Standard with a Materials pathway. While at work, you will sit within the Product Development Department and interact with all relevant interfacing departments to gain the specific skills and knowledge that you and our business need.
* Your final apprenticeship year will involve the completion of the Level 6 degree, including End Point Assessment (EPA) focusing on your dissertation, both at work and college.
* You will gain an understanding of the principles, processing, and testing of materials for use in Subsea Connectors and associated products.
* Have the chance to work in various departments and develop skills in manufacturing, testing, analysing, process and product fault diagnosis, and development.
* Develop your planning, delivery, and quality skills by working alongside skilled professionals.
* You will work with relevant industry standards and specifications to ensure conformity.
What You Bring
* A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above (English, Maths, Science + 2 others) PLUS a minimum of 48 UCAS points (excluding functional skills) from one of the options below:
* 2 A levels (Maths & science-based subject or technology engineering) OR
* A National Certificate, Diploma or Extended Diploma (or equivalent) in a science or technology-based subject, including merits in maths.
* You think logically, are willing to self-learn and research, and take a creative approach to problem-solving.
* You enjoy collaborating with others to find innovative solutions.
* You can work independently, safely, and responsibly; take ownership of challenges and ideas, and are looking to develop your ability to drive and lead change.

Siemens Energy Subsea is an award-winning facility based in Ulverston, responsible for developing, designing, and manufacturing Subsea Connectors for the global oil & gas industry and renewable energy opportunities. The factory is undertaking an ambitious digital transformation to help increase competitiveness and productivity to deliver more innovative products and services to our customers.
