Job Description Job Title: Occupational Therapist Location: Garden View & Upper Deanfield Hours: 35 hours per week Grade: 9A Salary: £22.98 - £24.82 / £41,950.13 - £45,308.13 per annum Contract Duration: Permanent The Role We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person who is skilled in assessment, reablement, goal setting and moving and handling. You will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills along with the ability to build strong relationships with people, families and colleagues. You will be joining friendly, dynamic and service user focussed teams in Garden View and Upper Deanfield. Garden View, in Tweedbank, is an Intermediate Care service providing short term assessment and reablement for people discharged from Borders General Hospital who require additional support prior to returning home. Garden View has 23 beds across three units with one 8 bed unit providing a specific reablement function. Upper Deanfield, in Hawick, provides Reablement to 12 service users who are referred from Borders General Hospital and Hawick Community Hospital who require additional support prior to returning home. Our service is committed to developing effective and efficient ways of enabling people achieve their outcomes. You will deliver a responsive occupational therapy service to undertake assessments that support people to return home. We are about to embark on developing a Community Reablement Team as a Discharge to Assess service from Garden View and Upper Deanfield. Your input will be key in supporting this exciting development to help inform an effective model of service delivery. You will have a sound knowledge of a range of medical conditions and how they affect the person’s ability to function in their home environment.
