Job Overview:
As the Maintenance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the engineering function, ensuring the efficient operation of the production facilities. You will drive continuous improvement initiatives and implement best practices to enhance overall equipment effectiveness and reliability. The successful candidate will bring a wealth of engineering expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for driving innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Reduction of maintenance costs by a minimum of 10%-20%.
2. Reduction of external maintenance costs by a minimum of 20%.
3. Development of preventive maintenance and minimize reactive maintenance.
4. Ensure Good Engineering Practice (GEP).
5. Adopt a Safety First approach in all maintenance activities.
6. Develop and manage a risk assessment for the site plant and fabrication maintenance.
7. Complete RCA for defects, internal and 3rd party non-conformities, or customer complaints when relevant to the machinery and equipment.
8. Ensure that SOPs are kept up to date in cooperation with the H&S advisor.
9. Adhere to the Plant Preventive Maintenance schedule and implement the required checks and maintenance. Repair where required.
10. Identify risks and opportunities for the plant equipment and fabrics and highlight them to the SMT.
11. Work closely with the Technical Manager daily & attend regular meetings when required.
12. Stay up to date on all training.
13. Attend and implement knowledge into all current & future capital projects.
14. Ensure that maintenance KPIs are met and report back at the end of the year.
15. Attend weekly management meetings with different line managers across the organization, assisting with day-to-day business activities that can arise in the management meeting and perform general ad hoc duties as they arise.
16. Assist the team when needed in the implementation of BRCGS accreditation.
17. Implement measuring equipment calibration, utilities, equipment, and maintenance procedures.
18. Develop, maintain, and implement the equipment manual and enhance SOPs accordingly.
19. Exhibit excellent problem-solving skills in the most effective and efficient manner.
20. Develop a clean and well-maintained engineering storage or workshop.
21. Develop and maintain machinery and equipment parts requirements.
Experience Needed:
1. Minimum of 2 years of experience in maintenance management, preferably in the food industry, e.g., manufacturing.
2. Strong knowledge of maintenance processes, systems, and tools.
3. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
4. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
5. Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in maintenance operations.
6. Ability to develop and manage budgets effectively.
