JOB TITLE: Applications Manager (Mechanical Engineering) LOCATION: HUDDERSFIELD, WEST YORKSHIRE SALARY: £50k - £60k (DOE) BENEFITS: Pension scheme (after 3 months employment) free on-site parking and 22 days holiday rising to 27 days after full completion of 1 holiday year (Jan – Dec) (Monday to Thursday 08:30am to 16:45 and Fridays 08:30am to 12:30pm) A multi-award-winning innovation business in heat pumps and green power generation requires an exceptional and self-driven individual to be an essential part of their commercial transition. A vacancy has arisen for a skilled mechanical engineer with commercial, design and compliance excellence, a problem-solving nature and a hands-on, can-do attitude. The successful candidate will have a proven ability to build client confidence whilst assimilating their needs into tangible costed deliverables. To produce and control the transition from client enquiry through quotation to successful and compliant implementation. Role Responsibilities: To adopt pre-vetted enquires and transition them into a logical, profitable and deliverable system proposition, you present, discuss and hone to meet client needs. To understand and ensure the correct product compliance needs are addressed. Collaborate with internal design and project management, in addition to external clients and collaborators to set, maintain and drive technical excellence and compliance. Communication and development of resilient trust and confidence-based relations. Formulate cost centres and work breakdown structure, whilst negotiating and liaising with COTS suppliers, carrying these through to the production of fully costed quotations for our industrial B2B client base. Pre-procurement: Help identify COTS parts against functional needs, such as pumps, valves, pipework and heat exchangers. Evaluate client P&ID and site schematics to ascertain optimal location, configuration and system interface points. In order to manage and execute the process of understanding how to best apply FeTu technology to client need, then ensuring successful delivery in realising profitable and successful client outcomes. Attributes Required Master’s degree or equivalent experience in mechanical engineering or fluid energy. Five years minimum experience in specifying, costing, quoting and delivering fluid power systems, to include valves, pumps, pipework, heat exchangers and control equipment. Be able to work individually and display strong communication skills with the ability to build positive and effective relationships with customer, supplier and colleagues. Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, comfortable operating in a fast-paced organisation. Familiar with certification and compliance needs relating to pressurised systems. Adaptive, intuitive and self-managing, competent to report to board level. Well organised and systematic approach with effective time and task management. Methodical, excellent, demonstrable analytical and problem-solving skills
