Job summary A newly formed Humber & North Yorkshire Procurement Collaborative, hosted by Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, will provide procurement and supply chain services to its Partner Trusts, and may extend over time to service other bodies within the Integrated Care System. You will work as a Clinical Procurement Specialist responsible for looking after Orthopaedics across all Partner Trusts but also managing a team of three Clinical Procurement Specialists who look at the wider clinical consumable portfolio, one based at each Partner Trust. Acting as a clinical expert you will provide the link between Procurement and clinical colleagues across the Partner Trusts to support the delivery and development of improved performance across organisations by providing highly specialist clinical advice which supports the Partner Trusts in making safe clinical decisions in product choice and standardisation which promotes quality improvement. You will, lead, plan and implement a variety of complex activities and change programmes across various clinical settings and ensure records are maintained, challenging clinical colleagues in their product selection and use to support standardisation, increase patient safety and deliver value for the all Partner Trusts. Main duties of the job Priority is to provide a first class service to clinicians, and ward staff which means that they have the right product in the right place at the right time. You will focus on achieving best value for money, reliability, responsiveness and flexibility from suppliers wishing to work with the Partner Trusts. Using your highly developed specialist clinical knowledge, expertise and experience, you will work with clinicians and other staff to achieve and sustain significant reductions in non-pay expenditure and improvements in the purchasing and stock control functions without compromising the quality of patient care or clinical outcomes. The individual will need to be a practicing clinical professional and as such will need to maintain the skills required to undertake clinical practice to be able to provide highly specialised advice concerning care which will impact patient pathways. Assess, develop and implement specialist nursing care programmes and provide highly specialist advice to patients/ clients. This is a key clinical specialist role where you will be accountable for your own professional actions. The successful candidate will already be operating at a level of senior clinical and managerial experience to have gained sufficient credibility and respect from their peers in order to be in a position to successfully deliver.
