Senior Practitioner - Child Disability and Transition Team
Job Description
37 hours per week
Our Child Disability and Transition team is a frontline assessment and case management team that specializes in providing support and services to disabled children and young people across the County Borough of Bridgend. This includes children who are care experienced and those disabled young people who are transitioning into adulthood.
The team responds to children and families with complex needs or where there are early child protection concerns and provides high-quality support and intervention for those with longer-term needs.
This is an excellent opportunity to join our busy, motivated, and supportive Child Disability and Transition team.
You will have a recognized social work qualification along with knowledge and understanding of the complex needs of disabled children, young people, adults, and their families. Ideally, you will have experience working as a social worker in children or adult services and a desire to specialize in working with disabled children, young people, and adults. This post offers a rare opportunity to manage both children and adult cases and to gain a wide range of case management experience across the age span within a supportive team.
You will support the team manager and deputy manager to provide support to the rest of the team and be given opportunities to develop management and supervisory skills to help you achieve any future career aspirations to move into a team management role.
Applicants should note that an Enhanced Disclosure Check by the Criminal Records Bureau will be necessary for the successful applicant.
If you are interested in this position and would like more information, please contact Bev Whiteley, Team Manager, Child Disability and Transition team, at (01656) 815442.
