As a Social Care Support Worker you will work as part of a team on a rota basis (including weekends). We currently have a 14hr and a 21 hour post within our Whitdale Care Home in Whitburn.
You will contribute to the care planning process for residents in consultation with other staff.
You will ensure that care practice is non-discriminatory and that residents’ personal beliefs and preferences are appropriately acknowledged.
You should be aware of and responsible to the needs of older people with mental health problems, e.g. dementia.
You will provide for the personal care, support and emotional needs of older people requiring residential care.
You will provide a service compatible with professional social work practice and within the policies, procedures and standards set by the service.
It is desirable that you possess an SVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent, however you can be working towards this or be willing to work towards it. You should have experience of working with older people, preferably in a care home setting
