Job Title: Senior Mechanical Project Engineer
Salary: £75,000 - £80,000 annual salary plus company package

A UK leading M&E Contractor are actively seeking a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer due to a highly regarded critical services scheme being secured in the Leicestershire region with a tier one main contractor and blue-chip end user. This project is valued upwards of £100 million M&E and will encompass aspects of both shell and core & fit out installations. This project is set to kick off on site early next with pre-construction experience being key and required to successfully be appointed to the role.

What we're looking for:
* Candidates with a background in project engineering for more than 3 years.
* Experience delivering large-scale electrical packages valued over £20 million from inception till completion.
* Previous employment with a Tier One M&E Contractor is REQUIRED.
* Strong track record of delivering commercial, healthcare or pharmaceutical schemes from pre-construction to completion.
* Career longevity and a desire to progress within a growing business.
Responsibilities / Skills & Experience:
* Review and understand mechanical design drawings, specifications, and scope of works.
* Liaise with design consultants, BIM teams, and the client to resolve design issues and ensure coordinated services.
* Assist in value engineering exercises to optimise design and installation methods.
* Once preconstruction is finished, oversee on-site mechanical installations, including HVAC, chilled water, heating, domestic water, and public health systems.
* Ensure installations are carried out to the highest quality and in line with project specifications, industry standards, and regulations.
* Manage and coordinate specialist subcontractors and suppliers.
* Review RAMS, method statements, and risk assessments for all mechanical packages.
* Monitor subcontractor progress and quality to ensure programme alignment.
* Assist with the procurement process by preparing material schedules and reviewing technical submittals.
* Ensure all materials and equipment comply with project specifications and are delivered on time.
* Raise RFIs where required and track through to resolution.
* Attend weekly site meetings, providing technical updates and reporting issues that could impact programme or quality.
* Support testing and commissioning teams to ensure all mechanical systems are functioning correctly and meet design intent.
* Promote a safety-first culture and ensure all mechanical works are undertaken in compliance with H&S policies and CDM regulations.
Skills & Attributes:
* Strong technical understanding of mechanical systems within building services.
* Ability to interpret complex drawings and specifications.
* Experience with major contractors or M&E subcontractors.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD, Navisworks, and/or Revit is advantageous.
