Teaching Assistant Location: York, North Yorkshire Salary: £83 - £100 per day Start Date: ASAP Contract Type: Full-Time/Part-Time/Supply GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our client Schools in York, North Yorkshire, starting as soon as possible. We are currently seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who will be working on 1:1 and small group basis with SEN students. SEN Teaching Assistants Responsibilities: Work with SEN students across different classes. Work with the class teachers to support delivery lessons and manage classroom behaviour. Support children with physical disabilities, learning difficulties, emotional and behavioural difficulties, or sensory impairments. Responsibilities will include helping prepare learning materials, run classroom activities, with plenty of hands-on experience and supervision. Collaboration with other professionals, such as speech therapists, occupational therapists, and/or physiotherapists. Providing additional support to the teacher in the classroom. SEN Teaching Assistants Requirements: Must hold the Right to Work in the UK. Relevant qualifications in education or SEN support. Training in behavior management and de-escalation techniques is desirable. Be able to demonstrate a good level of initiative and a hands-on approach. Should have good knowledge about different additional needs and working with students with SEN on a 1:1 basis. Have excellent teamwork, classroom and communication skills. Hold a Child only DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
