We have an exciting opportunity for a PMLD Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team in Chesterfield S40 About the Role: As a PMLD Teaching Assistant in Chesterfield S40, you will be instrumental in supporting students with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), helping them overcome learning barriers and reach their full potential. Working closely with teachers and support staff, you will contribute to creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. Key Responsibilities of PMLD Teaching Assistant (TA): Assist in the development and implementation of individualised education plans for students with PMLD to tailor educational activities and resources to meet the specific needs of each student. Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with PMLD to help students understand and complete their work, providing additional explanations and assistance as needed. Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to teachers and adjusting support strategies as necessary. Participate in meetings and discussions to share insights and strategies for supporting each student’s learning and well-being. Help foster a welcoming and supportive atmosphere where all students feel valued and included. Employ different instructional techniques and materials to cater to the diverse learning styles and needs of students. Keep detailed notes on each student’s development and communicate this information to teachers, parents, and other relevant parties. Requirements of PMLD Teaching Assistant (TA): Experience working with students with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD). Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with students, parents, and colleagues, building positive and supportive relationships. Demonstrate the ability to establish trust and rapport with all members of the school community. Show a deep commitment in helping students with PMLD by exhibiting patience and empathy in your interactions. Additional qualifications or training in special education are advantageous but not mandatory, providing you with additional skills and knowledge to support students with PMLD effectively.
