If so, please read on and get in touch today The opportunity Our client is currently seeking an experienced EICA (Electrical, Instrumentation, Control & Automation) Commissioning Engineer to join their dynamic team, working on Welsh Water Waste Water Treatment Plants across North Wales. This role is part of AMP 8, a significant investment program for Welsh Water. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the commissioning of EICA systems, ensuring all systems are tested, calibrated, and fully functional to meet project specifications and client requirements. The role will involve working for an Engineering Design Consultancy, ensuring high standards and technical expertise throughout the commissioning process. The role Duration: 6 months This role is based in North Wales (Various Welsh WWTW in the North Wales area. Roaming role) Contract (Outside IR35 subject to an IR35 Assessment) Salary: £450.00 LTD per day Working Hours: 9-hour days (45 hours per week, Monday – Friday) Project: AMP 8 You will report to the Project Manager Your duties and responsibilities will be Commission and test Electrical, Instrumentation, Control, and Automation systems on-site, ensuring compliance with design specifications and regulations. Collaborate with project engineers, contractors, and suppliers to resolve any technical issues that arise during the commissioning phase. Perform fault finding, troubleshooting, and problem-solving to ensure systems are fully operational. Conduct on-site training for operational teams on the correct use of EICA systems. Develop and execute commissioning plans, procedures, and schedules. Prepare and review documentation including commissioning reports, test certificates, and as-built drawings. Ensure all commissioning activities are carried out in compliance with relevant health and safety standards, regulations, and company policies. Work with the client (Welsh Water) and other stakeholders to ensure all systems are handed over on time and to the required specifications. Provide support to the maintenance teams after commissioning, assisting with post-commissioning activities as required.You will have the following qualifications and experience Proven experience as an EICA Commissioning Engineer in the water or utilities sector, with a focus on waste water treatment plants. Strong understanding of Electrical, Instrumentation, Control, and Automation systems. Experience with SCADA systems and PLCs (programmable logic controllers). Knowledge of relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety procedures. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels. Full UK driving license and flexibility to travel to different sites across North Wales. HNC/HND or degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, Instrumentation, or a related discipline. IET or equivalent membership (preferred). Valid CSCS Card (or equivalent) for site-based work. Previous experience working on water treatment projects or similar infrastructure projects is highly advantageous.
