We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our Street & Cleansing Section. If you want to join our team taking pride in delivering high quality services for the resident’s business and tourists of the New Forest. This great opportunity working across the forest and coastal areas based within the new forest.
We have one position available at our either Marsh Lane in Lymington or Hardley depot once completed. Until this is operational, you will work from our Claymeadow Depot.
There may be occasions due to operational need to be based from other depots in the district.
Do you enjoy working outside?
Street cleaning operations around the district driving a 3.5 ton truck, litter picking, bin emptying, fly tip collection & any work-based paperwork or system relating to the role.
You will need to carry out a variety of street cleansing duties. You will carry out planned and additional works collection of fly-tipped waste, servicing of bins and other duties related to the street scene service as required including carrying out of building cleaning or clearance operations.
Supporting wider StreetScene operation as needed, to carry out either as a part of a team or individually, street cleansing activities such as providing, litter picking, fly tipping and litter clearance, and graffiti removal ensuring cemetery and public space bins are empty and well maintained, cleansing & maintenance of public conveniences and other buildings, emergency response/snow clearance and any Void works within the New Forest.
A high degree of physical effort is required as lifting of bins and other heavy objects are part of this role along side long periods of walking
About you
You should possess a valid UK driving licence with the ability to drive manual vehicles and to drive a Council vehicle minimum 3.5 Ton, up to 7.5 tonnes & CPC would be beneficial you would be responsible for the vehicle (successfully shortlisted candidates will be asked to bring this to interview) Due to the physical nature of the role, you should have a good level of physical fitness as well as good customer care skills and experience of dealing with members on the public, preferably in a frontline service environment.
Work Pattern
15 hours per week Saturday & Sunday 7.5 hours per day 8am – 4pm
Please note some flexibility will required to carry out training, induction and ongoing training during Monday – Friday.
