POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER IN N-MOFs: A postdoctoral position is available as part of a 6-year, €10 M Synergy Grant from the European Research Council – Autonomous Discovery of Advanced Materials (ADAM). The project focuses on the synthesis of non-metal organic frameworks (N-MOFs) and integrates predictive computational chemistry, autonomous robots, and materials synthesis. The position, based at the Materials Innovation Factory and the Autonomous Chemistry Laboratory, offers a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and collaborate with research groups in Southampton, Rostock, and Liverpool.
Designation: Postdoctoral Researcher
Location: Materials Innovation Factory, Autonomous Chemistry Laboratory, University of Liverpool
Minimum Requirements:
1. PhD in a relevant subject area
2. Proven track record in framework chemistry
3. Experience in the synthesis of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), covalent organic frameworks (COFs), hydrogen-bonded organic frameworks (HOFs), or related materials
4. Strong aptitude for team working
5. Skills and motivation for autonomous research using robots and computation
Job Description:
The postdoctoral researcher will contribute to the synthesis of non-metal organic frameworks (N-MOFs) as part of the ADAM project. The role involves collaboration with research groups in Southampton (computational chemistry) and Rostock (robotics), working alongside team members in Liverpool. While prior experience in robotics is not required, familiarity with automation technologies or coding skills could be advantageous. The main criteria for appointment emphasize skills and motivation over a narrow view of the publication record. The project, supervised by Professor Andrew Cooper FRS, is based in the Materials Innovation Factory and the Autonomous Chemistry Laboratory, providing a unique opportunity for career development in academia or industry. The post is available until March 31, 2027.
How to Apply:
To be considered for this post, submit a cover letter clearly outlining both skills and motivation. Applications should be made through the University of Liverpool’s official application process.
Last Date for Apply: January 11, 2024, 23:30 (GMT)
Note: The University reserves the right to close the vacancy early if a sufficient number of applications are received.
