Management Accountant
Location: Central London
My client is a private equity-backed firm, owns and operates an esteemed group of private schools across the globe. They are dedicated to delivering excellence in education and uphold a strong commitment to fostering growth and innovation in educational practices.
They are currently seeking a detail-oriented and professional Management Accountant. The successful candidate will manage their financial operations, provide accurate budgetary information, and offer beneficial financial advice to support key decisions.
Responsibilities:
* Support production of monthly P&L for several multi-national legal entities, including posting journals
* Support preparation of monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
* Preparation of the accruals, prepayments and amortisation journals to be posted during month end
* Analysis of monthly P&L (actual vs budget/forecast)
* Assist with production of monthly and ad hoc reporting pack(s)
* Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting process
* Seek opportunities to enhance, innovate and improve existing processes and controls
* Preparation of files and assistance on annual audit.
* Assist with quarterly VAT reporting and other tax filings
* General accounting system and data maintenance.
* Support to Management Accountants and Financial Controller
* Undertakes other tasks commensurate with the role and position which may reasonably be requested
* Help with AP and bank reconciliations when people are on annual leave
Additional requirements:
* Attentive to detail
* Good Communication skills both with your team and managers
* Strong time management and prioritisation skills
* Team player; able to work effectively as part of dynamic, global and virtual teams
* Prompt feedback and action on all correspondence
* Intermediate Excel (Pivot tables & VLOOKUPS)
* JD Edwards Knowledge would be a distinct advantage
* Studying Accounting qualification preferred (AAT, ACCA, CIMA)
* Good understanding of the accounting process up to trial balance
* Multi-currency and Multi-entity experience
