Main purpose of job:
Roles and responsibilities:
HR & People Management
1. Independently resolve and manage complex employee relations issues (including pay and non-pay benefits, onboarding, staff wellbeing, inclusion, dispute resolution, etc) while proactively engaging with our Honorary Legal Adviser and stakeholders.
2. Discreetly handle sensitive employee issues that could include performance and/or conduct issues, bullying, harassment, discrimination and the full process for terminations including: obtaining final approvals, employee notifications and exit procedures.
3. Develop and implement corrective action plans and conduct investigations where needed to ensure local law compliance.
4. Facilitate educational appropriate HR training all staff within post including staff in Nassau.
5. Assist with the management of the policy for compliance to Terms & Conditions of Service.
6. Maintain knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements and assist in maintenance of all local policies and conditions of employment.
7. Administrative duties, including filling, data entry into the workforce planning system, and maintaining records for compliance purposes.
Financial management:
8. Provide support to the Senior Corporate Services Manager in budgeting, forecasting and managing expenditure of the BHC Kingston’s locally devolved budget.
9. Lead, remotely, on budget, forecasting and managing BHC Nassau’s expenditure, providing budget support and advice to the High Commissioner in Nassau.
10. All other duties as assigned.

11. A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree and 3 to 5 years relatable experience, with a minimum of 3 years experience in employee relations, finance and budgeting
12. Certification in Human Resources
13. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidential information and to act appropriately in delicate employee situations
14. Proven ability to exercise good judgement with little or no supervision
15. Experience working in a fast-paced environment while delivering excellent customer service
16. Proficiency in MS Office (minimum of MS word and MS Excel)
17. Excellent communication skills; both written and oral, including the ability to communicate at all levels
18. Proven ability to prioritise, effectively manage and execute multiple tasks
19. The successful candidate must have a high degree of personal resilience and empathy
20. A valid passport
21. Must have the legal status to live and work in Jamaica
