The Trust is looking to appoint consultant physicians with a strong background in and a passion for Geriatric medicine. We are looking for an individual with enthusiasm for change and service development as we build the key components of an integrated system of care for frail elderly patients.
This post will support the delivery of an acute frailty service and will provide clinical leadership in the strategic development of the service which will further enhance the care and improve the care provision for frail elderly patients in North Warwickshire. We are currently investing in and improving our front door frailty service seeking to increase the depth and resilience in order that frail adults can be rapidly assessed and managed avoiding the need for inpatient admission where that is possible.

The Trust has recently introduced a Consultant Foundation Programme, led by the Medical Director and internal and external mentors, with the following aims:
1. Raise awareness of the new consultant’s role and the importance of their impact in interacting with, leading and influencing their team.
2. Explore how to deliver safe and effective care within a wider clinical and trust environment.
3. Understand how to work successfully within the NHS environment, balancing targets, finance and with other agencies.
In addition, the successful applicant will be well supported by the wider GEH Elderly Care team; comprising of 5 substantive consultants, two registrars, three HO’s, two SHOs, four ACPs, three PAs, four clinical nurse specialists and dedicated admin support.
