Consortium is excited to be partnering with our client in their search for a Senior Design Engineer. This role, based near Hull, involves being part of a dynamic project team that develops and delivers engineering solutions for Electricity Transmission and Distribution Projects. You will play a key role in leading the design and development of overhead line systems while ensuring compliance with relevant engineering standards.
Senior Design Engineer Role & Responsibilities:
1. Lead the design and development of overhead line systems while ensuring compliance with relevant engineering standards.
2. Take charge of project management to guarantee timely delivery and adherence to budgetary constraints.
3. Ensure all projects comply with health and safety regulations, actively managing any arising issues.
4. Offer guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, promoting a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
5. Supervise daily design operations, ensuring compliance with quality standards and project requirements.
6. Provide oversight during site operations, ensuring adherence to approved designs and procedures.
7. Compile and maintain essential project documentation, including analytical reports to substantiate design decisions.
8. Facilitate collaboration between departments and external stakeholders to ensure effective project delivery.
The ideal candidate will have:
1. A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline (Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering).
2. A minimum of 2 years of post-graduate industry experience, ideally with a focus on overhead line design.
3. Proficiency in industry-standard software such as PLS CADD and PLS Tower.
4. Knowledge of relevant national and industry standards, including BS EN 50341.
5. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and clients.
6. An aspiration to work towards membership in a professional engineering institution.
Senior Design Engineer Salary & Benefits:
1. Salary: £55,000 to £60,000 per annum.
