Your new role
As a Production & Materials Controller, you will play a crucial role in the Production & Logistics team. Your responsibilities will include setting the production plan, executing purchasing decisions, maintaining inventory control, and managing subcontractors. You will utilise the company's MRP system to create realistic production plans, execute purchasing activities, and ensure the smooth flow of products to meet customer orders. Key duties include:
1. Utilising MRP systems to identify material requirements and set production plans.
2. Executing purchasing activities to optimise cost and meet production schedules.
3. Managing manufacturing activities at electronic subcontractors.
4. Maintaining accurate inventory balances and conducting periodic stock counts.
5. Supporting the production team to ensure timely fulfilment of customer orders.
6. Providing weekly KPI reports and participating in continuous improvement tasks.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you should have:
1. 4-5 years of experience in production planning from within a Manufacturing industry.
2. Solid experience with MRP production control systems.
3. Experience in the procurement of electronic components.
4. Strong understanding of KPIs and continuous improvement tools.
5. Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in Excel.
6. A positive, flexible attitude and strong teamwork skills.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
8. A commitment to quality and a proactive approach to personal development.
