Consultant in Hepatology and Liver Transplantation
Cambridge University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
Applications are invited for the post of Consultant in Hepatology and Liver Transplantation at Addenbrooke's Hospital, part of Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. There are two substantive posts available, as well as one 6 month Locum post.
The postholders will be expected to contribute to the local and regional in-patient and out-patient Hepatology and Liver Transplant service at CUH.
Main duties of the job
One of the substantive posts focuses on immune-mediated liver disease, while the other covers more generic aspects of the service but will have a specialist component. Both include transplant OP and the same on-call commitment.
You should specify which substantive post you are applying for, or both if you feel suitably qualified. Please specify if you are applying for the 6 month Locum post.
The candidate must have the ability to offer expert clinical opinion on a range of problems and be able to take full and independent responsibility for the clinical care of hepatology and liver transplant patients.
You will be fully registered with the GMC and ideally have a CCT in Gastroenterology/Hepatology or be within six months of the award of CCT at the time of the interview. Applications are welcomed from those unable to work full time for personal reasons or those wishing to job-share.
As part of our commitment to supporting the medical workforce in delivering an excellent caring service to patients, all newly appointed Substantive Consultants attend our five-day Consultant Development programme within a year of joining the Trust. Leadership is a key requirement of doctors' professional work and this innovative programme is designed to support Consultants in honing the leadership and management skills they need to succeed at CUH.
