This is a voluntary position involving half-termly meetings.
We invite applications for the role of Governor to join our cohesive and supportive team. We are specifically seeking an individual with professional experience, ideally in finance or education, gained across various sectors. Our diverse group of governors share a deep passion for the transformative impact of education on young lives.
Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate closely with the school leadership team.
2. Oversee the strategic direction and overall performance of our school.
We are particularly interested in individuals that have quality of education knowledge, finance, and health and safety.
Key Qualities Required:
1. Child-Centric Commitment: A genuine dedication to the welfare and academic achievement of the children.
2. Positive Contribution: A desire to actively contribute to the school community.
3. Practical Judgment: Common sense and practical decision-making.
4. Time Commitment: A willingness to invest time in the role.
If you have the commitment, vision, and desire to contribute to our educational community, we encourage you to apply. Your dedication will help shape the future of our students.
Governors play a crucial role in our school. Many of their functions are either statutory or governed by legal frameworks. To effectively fulfill their strategic responsibilities, governors must think strategically, challenge, monitor, and provide support. We offer a comprehensive induction, training, and support package and this is a great opportunity for professional development at board level.
At Brentwood County High School, we will give all students the opportunity to develop a full range of skills and knowledge that they will need to succeed in later life, whatever pathway they choose to take. They will have many opportunities to develop their talents in a wide range of subject routes and activities.
We expect them to work very hard in order to achieve their full potential and we expect students to follow our behaviour commitments. We want them to be respectful, demonstrate excellence, persevere in everything they do, and be safe.
If they work hard and commit to their learning, they will achieve the best possible outcomes. Their focus and a positive 'growth mind-set' will enable them to be ready for learning at every stage over the next seven years. All of our teachers will go above and beyond to support them in fulfilling their potential.
Our Trust vision is for a global community of values-driven individuals who, together, flourish. We strive to provide our pupils with a global perspective and empower them to see their place as active citizens in a democratic society. Osborne Co-operative Academy Trust upholds the international co-operative values of Self-help, Self-responsibility, Democracy, Equality, Equity, and Solidarity.
