We are a leading organisation within the debt collection industry seeking a highly motivated and experienced Head of Sales to lead our ambitious sales and lead generation teams. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be instrumental in developing and executing strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed targets, expand our market presence, and foster a high-performance sales culture.
About the Role:
As Head of Sales, you will be a critical leadership figure responsible for the entire sales function. You will grow, coach, and inspire our Sales Team and Lead Generation Team to achieve outstanding results. This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional people management skills, a strong understanding of sales processes, and the ability to analyse performance data to drive continuous improvement. You will also actively participate in industry networking to build relationships and identify new opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Targets: Achieve personal sales targets as set by senior management.
* Sales Strategy & Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies, including forecasting, budgeting, and identifying new business opportunities.
* Team Leadership & Management: Lead, coach, and mentor the sales team (including Sales Team and Lead Generation Team), setting clear expectations, conducting performance reviews, providing feedback, and identifying training needs. Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
* Lead Generation Management: Oversee the lead generation team, ensuring effective strategies are in place to generate qualified leads and optimising processes for maximum effectiveness.
* Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) for both sales and lead generation teams, analyse performance data, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions. Prepare regular sales performance reports.
* Sales Process Optimisation: Continuously evaluate and improve sales processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness, implementing best practices and leveraging technology.
* Client Relationship Management: Identify opportunities to expand existing accounts and cultivate new business relationships.
* Market Analysis: Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and industry regulations to inform sales strategies and identify new market opportunities.
* Collaboration: Work effectively with other departments to ensure seamless execution of sales strategies.
* Social Media: Contribute to the development of marketing campaigns via social media and email.
* Daily Reporting: Provide a concise daily report to the Senior Management Team and Managing Director summarising key performance indicators.
* Regular Reporting: Prepare more comprehensive weekly and monthly reports as required by senior management.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
* Sales Revenue: Achieving and exceeding annual sales targets.
* New Client Acquisition: Number of new clients acquired.
* Average Deal Size: Value of average sales transaction.
* Sales Cycle Length: Time taken to close a deal.
* Lead Conversion Rate: Percentage of leads converted into sales opportunities.
* Lead Generation Volume: Number of qualified leads generated.
* Team Performance: Achievement of individual and team sales targets.
What We're Looking For:
* Proven experience in a senior sales role, ideally within the debt collection or a related industry.
* Demonstrable success in developing and implementing effective sales strategies.
* Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a sales team to achieve targets.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and identify areas for improvement.
* A proactive and results-oriented approach with a strong focus on achieving and exceeding targets.
* Experience in overseeing lead generation strategies and teams.
* Familiarity with CRM systems and sales technology.
* Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
* Excellent organisational and time management skills.
What We Offer:
* Competitive basic salary of £28,000.
* Uncapped On-Target Earnings (OTE) of £50,000+ with a realistic opportunity to earn significantly more.
