Supplier Quality Manufacturing Engineer
About the Role
The Supplier Quality Manufacturing Engineer will engage with suppliers, analyze data, and drive continuous improvement. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to meet quality standards and maintain strong supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead Product Qualification Activities at Suppliers – Product and Process Qualifications (PPQs)
* Contain, handle and resolve quality issues related to non-conforming components globally
* Manage suppliers in handling non-conformance issues
* Assist with process improvements
* Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions
* Investigate manufacturing capability issues to ensure business continuity
* Identify and support cost reduction opportunities
* Audit suppliers for capability and quality systems
* Develop supplier capability for current and future needs
* Collaborate with customer-facing teams on product non-conformances
Qualifications
Required:
* Technical training or education in quality, mechanical, or electrical engineering
* Knowledge of ISO9001, SQM, and QC routines
* Understanding of manufacturing processes and drawing interpretation
* Experience working with design engineering for manufacturability
* Ability to manage multiple investigations
* Self-motivated with project ownership skills
* Experience managing Product and Process Qualifications and supplier issues
* Knowledge of inspection methodologies
Preferred:
* Experience with critical parts
* Application of quality improvement tools (8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa)
* SAP experience
