Job summary
We are looking for Community Maternity Support Workers.
It is expected that you will participate in the following:
1. Maternal and Baby routine care
2. Maternal and Baby observations
3. Home visits for Community role.
4. Transcutaneous bilirubinometer readings
5. Maternal and baby blood sampling
6. Contemporaneous record keeping
7. Parent education
8. Infant feeding in line with BFI
9. Babies requiring additional needs - you will be expected to work alongside/under the direction of a midwife to provide care to babies requiring extra monitoring and specialist care. This involves multi-disciplinary working therefore excellent communication skills must be demonstrated
Main duties of the job
This unique opportunity is ideal for individuals who are keen to embrace a new challenge and expand their knowledge and skills in a specialist midwifery team is a fast paced busy environment to work in and you will work closely with the multi-disciplinary team to provide a high standard of care whilst maintaining a safe, efficient environment.Although the role can be challenging, it will provide excellent personal development opportunities and job is an excellent opportunity for those that have a NVQ 2 or equivalent qualification in a health related subject and hold Maths and English GCSE grade C and above/ grade 4 or above or is essential that you have the ability to work independently and under supervision. Good interpersonal and organisational skills are essential for this successful applicant will be given specialist training and induction from the midwifery education team and support from enthusiastic and dedicated midwives.
You will need to hold a valid UK driving licence and have access to a car.
