A vacancy has arisen within the Public Protection unit of the Environment and Communities Directorate for a Principal Building Control Surveyor. The role is ideally suited to applicants who place a high value on a work life balance.

With the recent changes to the Building Control industry this is an exciting time to be working in Local Authority Building Control. Cheshire West and Chester Council are looking for a building control surveyor to join its team in an exciting hybrid role that encompasses the duties of Enforcement lead in matters relating to the Building Regulations and also supporting our major projects team and area teams. Our projects include multi-million-pound commercial developments, retail, office and residential developments, located throughout the borough including historic and listed buildings in the centre of Chester.
You should be registered with the Building Safety Regulator at a minimum level of Class F and have experience of dealing with a range of construction projects together with a confident understanding of current Building Regulations, construction practice and procedures. The role is designated as flexible and mobile and will require the successful applicants to be able to work from their home.
