Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician (PTPT) Apprentices
We are looking to offer someone the opportunity to train to become pharmacy technicians. We are looking someone who has an interest in medicines and want to be involved in supporting patients’ healthcare needs.
This is a rewarding and challenging role that enables you to earn, while being on a formal training programme leading to professional registration.
You will be working in HMP WoodhillONEday a week and in HMP AylesburyFOURdays a week. Your training will involve developing a work-based portfolio, undertaking assessments, assignments and projects within specified timeframes.
You will be studying as an apprentice which will include practical on the job training alongside successful completion of an in-house competency packages and a formal training programme that will enable eligibility for registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
You will need to have excellent communication skills, be able to work efficiently and accurately, pay attention to detail and also enjoy working as part of a team. This position is fixed term* with no guarantee of a qualified Pharmacy Technician post.
You will need to demonstrate excellent work/study/life balance skills and be very self-motivated to complete the training programme.

Supervised duties will include:
• Labelling and dispensing a variety of prescriptions
• Learning how different medicines work and what they are used
• Ordering, receiving and maintaining medicines safely
• Providing excellent customer care and maintaining confidentiality while dealing with patients, staff and the public
• Meeting patients and discussing their medicines
• Providing advice and information to patients on how to use their medicines safely
• Working with patients and nursing staff on wards and in clinics to ensure safe medicines use
