About The Role
We are looking for a Business Development Manager – New Connections to join our rapidly expanding, award-winning business sales team. This is a field-based business development role, often engaging at a senior level. The core function of the role is to expand Ecotricity’s New Connections channel in line with forecasted growth. The role holder will be responsible for delivering effective account management for a portfolio of existing and new customers in order to drive new business. This will include Energy consultants, Brokers and other intermediaries.
The Business Development Manager will also work closely with our credit and finance departments, as well as our operational and front-line customer service teams, to ensure our cash and debt position is always considered with every opportunity, as well as managing the portfolio from a customer service perspective.
The BDM is expected to influence the wider B2B sales strategy, focusing on maximizing sales efficiencies and introducing new products and services to meet the overall B2B plan. This role is varied, challenging, rewarding, and requires good communication and organizational skills.
Core Responsibilities
* Deliver agreed individual targets in line with overall B2B plan
* Aid in the development of the New Connections strategy supporting change within Ecotricity where required
* Deliver excellent customer service through strong relationships, understanding customer needs and working with them to achieve targets
* Provide quotations for both Gas and Power contracts, from the New Connection request, through the negotiation and acceptance stages
* Create and communicate compelling new ideas whilst gaining the support of senior management
* Work with other departments to cross-promote the company brand and products
* Act as the primary liaison for TPI’s and direct customers when required up to a senior level
* Develop and implement new ideas when approaching a new client base
* Work with the commissions team to implement bespoke arrangements to gain acquisition of new clients where required
* Support the launch of new products and services – taking any opportunity to cross-sell
* Support back-office in providing aftersales support and customer care
* Regularly attend off-site client meetings and networking events
* Integral role in new business pitches, securing contracts, and responsibility for the effective registration of new clients
* Various standard and ad-hoc reporting (including providing detail on all KPI’s to Senior Manager – B2B Sales upon request)
About You

Knowledge Required
* Understanding of the energy industry (desirable but not essential)
* Strong skill level in Excel, PowerPoint, SAP or similar CRM
* Good computer literacy including Microsoft Office Packages
