Developer / Senior Developer - React Job Description The eCommerce Tech team in Enderby are looking for experienced React Developers to join the team! Our eCommerce team at Head Office is responsible for developing and managing all of the Next websites and mobile applications. These are all built in-house and then deployed and managed. About the Team Working in a team alongside other Senior and Junior Developers with a strong skill set in front-end web development. This team focuses on continual delivery of functionality via our personalisation and testing platform that allows us to optimise the customer journey. The team is responsible for developing and maintaining both the frontend and backend aspects of the product listings page on the Next Website as well as the TP Clients. Our main focus is delivering a seamless and responsive user experience across various devices and browsers About the Role As a frontend focussed developer, you will be working in an agile team headed up by a Delivery Manager and working alongside other developers to build upon our quality centric eCommerce platform. You will be responsible for developing and enhancing the user interface of our online platform and will have the opportunity to design architecture and select tools, to improve our skill set and improve our platform in line with the future road map. The enterprise platform is currently used to drive numerous sites, serving millions of users worldwide. As a passionate developer you'll have a keen mindset to improve, you’ll enjoy working as part of a team. Comfortable with modern technologies and tooling, you’ll use best practises to improve the user experience and efficiency of development teams. You will help provide development support to internal users, as well as offering out-of-hours cover during seasonal events and busy trading periods. You’ll also use your expertise and experience to help us continually improve our processes and working practices, actively enabling the department to become as efficient and effective as it can be. There are flexible working options available for this role, including home working with an average of 2-3 days in the office per week. Essential Criteria
* Experience of modern Javascript frameworks and libraries such as React, Redux
* Strong experience of using NodeJS to high performance sites.
* Experience working with HTML5 and CSS3
* Awareness and practice of UI performance best practices
* A desire to write readable, maintainable, modular and extendable code
* Experience in creating a responsive site with multiple viewports.
* Strong analytical skills and problem solving aptitude
* Understanding of industry standard web accessibility, web design, & usability
* Experience in mentor junior developers on development methodologies and optimisation techniques
* Experience creating/working with reusable component libraries to create consistent and responsive web applications
Desirable Criteria
* Understanding of service-oriented architecture (an understanding of)
* Experience in building Micro Frontends
* Experience with Microsoft Azure
* Experience in working Agile team
